Robert M. ("Bob") Simons

Robert M. Simons, 78, of Georgetown, passed away September 14, 2023, at home after a lengthy cancer battle. 

Bob was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Merrill C. Simons and Lois (Woodward) Simons.  In addition to his wife Shirley (Poole) Simons of 54 years, he is survived by his daughter Heather Spear and her husband Mark, and Grandsons Jared, Ian and Dylan. His son Christopher Simons, his sister Nancy Burnham and her husband Robert, as well as several nieces and nephews. 

After attending Peabody schools Bob graduated from Salem State College, eventually earning a master’s degree from Lesley College in Cambridge.  He taught in Peabody and retired from Arlington High School. His passion for music led to over 50 years of composing and singing.
