Ronald Dole, Sr. Obituary

Ronald D. Dole, 90, of Boxford, Massachusetts, passed away at his residence during the early evening hours of June 29, 2026.

Ronald was born at home in Georgetown, Massachusetts, on August 18, 1935. He was the third child born to the late Clement H. Dole and Dorothy (Dean) Dole. He attended the local schools and graduated from Perley High School in 1953.

In 1954, Ronald married the late Elaine B. (Hopping) Dole. Throughout his working career, he was employed by the Essex County Co-Op, Sears, Roebuck and Company, and later returned to the Essex County Co-Op before concluding his career as co-owner of Dodge Power Equipment in Hamilton, Massachusetts.

Ronald enjoyed traveling, gardening, photography, and watching the wildlife on his property. He especially appreciated the beauty of nature and the quiet pleasures of home.

Ronald is survived by his three children: Laurie Asselin of West Brookfield, Massachusetts; Lynne Papa of Danielson, Connecticut; and Ronald D. Dole Jr. of Boxford, Massachusetts. He also leaves six grandchildren: Thomas Burke, Jessica Lyn (Asselin) Erensoy, Richard Asselin, Kaitlyn (Asselin) Patrick, Erick St. Denis, and Jaime (St.Denis) Smith. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his wife, Ronald was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Ann (Dole) Roberts; his brother, Clement H. Dole; and his grandson, David.
