Rosalie (DiGrado) Sedita

On Tuesday, September 22, 2020, Rosalie Sedita, mother of three children, died at the age of 93. Rosalie was born on September 28, 1926 in Paterson, NJ to Luciano and Phillipa “Feni”  DiGrado who emigrated to the U.S. from Sicily. She went to St Michael’s School in Paterson, then to business school, and later received her G.E.D. She first worked as a secretary in New York City, then for many years as a hairdresser with her husband, Joseph Sedita at salons that they owned in NJ. She also worked as an office worker at Paterson State College. After 37 years living in Oakland, NJ Rosalie moved to MA in 1992 to be close to her three children. Rosalie loved to travel and went all over the U.S. and to Italy with her cousin Marie. Rosalie also took several trips and cruises with her daughter to England, France and the Mediterranean. She enjoyed dancing, painting, and was a voracious reader. Rosalie was an ardent liberal and democrat, and served on the Boxford Democratic Committee. For the past 18 year, Rosalie was closely involved with the North Andover Senior Citizen Center where, often participated in spirited conversations and debates as part of the weekly News and Views group. She made many dear friends at the center. She was the moral compass of her family, and everyone who knew her describes her as beautiful inside and out, smart, gentle and strong, passionate, and inspirational to everyone she met. 
Rosalie is survived by her three children: daughter Joan Sedita and husband Joseph DelGuidice of Boxford, MA; son Guy Sedita and his partner Elane of Beverly, MA; son Mark Sedita and his wife Bilha Sedita of Easton, MA; and six grandchildren: Marco DelGuidice, Jay DelGuidice, Gina Sedita, Jared Sedita, Joseph Sedita, and Rosalie Sedita. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Sedita in 1996.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Tuesday, September 29th at 11:30 AM in St. Michael Church, 196 Main Street, North Andover. Entombment will follow at the  Elmwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Bradford.
