Ruth M. (Tolman) Gaspar, 89 of Newburyport and formerly of Georgetown, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, at Adviniacare in Newburyport. Ruth was born in Saugus, MA on September 17, 1936, to the late George and Myrtle (Grey) Tolman. She was the wife of the late Norman E. Gaspar.
Ruth was a longtime Lunch Lady in the cafeteria of Hamilton-Wenham High School. She graduated with her class from The Essex Aggie and became a lover of raising rabbits, then showing them at the Topsfield Fair each year. Ruth became a member of The Essex County Rabbit Club and the Beverly Grange.
She found comfort in the Bible and during her spare time, truly enjoyed Gardening, puzzles and dining out, especially for ice cream, fried clams and Chinese food. Her adventurous side found her out on the road with her beloved motorcycle.
Ruth is survived by her son, Dwight Gaspar of Beverly, her loving niece and caretaker, Debby Tolman of Georgetown, her brothers, George R. Tolman and James N. Tolman both of Georgetown, her sister, June Bell of Newburyport and her grandchildren, Jessica Ralston and Randy Gaspar and greatgrandchildren, Boston, Bruin, Lena and Nora as well as several nieces and nephews.
Ruth was predeceased by her sons, William and John Gaspar as well as her siblings, Howard, Robert, Frederick and Frank Tolman and her sister, Pauline M. Fisher.
Family and friends are kindly invited to Ruth's visitation on Wednesday, June 3rd from 10 t0 12 noon at the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown, followed by her service at 12:15 in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Georgetown.
