Thomas McGrane Obituary

Thomas McGrane, 66, of Georgetown and formerly of Salem, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 5th at the Holy Family Hospital, Haverhill, surrounded by the love of his family. Thomas was born in Salem, MA. on January 29, 1955 to the late George and Frances (Gabrielska) McGrane. Tom was a longtime heavy equipment operator with The Salem Power Plant, until his retirement in 2014.  
During his spare time, Tom engaged in many passions, especially applying his woodworking skills to making toys for his grandchildren. He was a jack of all trades and could build or fix most anything. Tom loved spending time outdoors especially going camping, fishing and boating. Tom enjoyed music, especially playing the drums. What Tom enjoyed most of all was spending time with his family.


Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Janice M. (Poussard) McGrane of Georgetown, their daughters, Erin M. Bridges and her husband Ben of Jeffersonton, Virginia, Lauren E. Bontorno and her husband AJ of Wells Maine, his four grandchildren, Sawyer and Carolina Bridges and Colton and Easton Bontorno, his four sisters, Carol Gillis and her husband Lawrence of Eliot, ME, Joan O’Connor of Salem, MA, Sandra Babiarz and her husband Robert of Nashua, NH and Gail Markowicz and her husband Joseph of Salem, MA as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also the father to late twin daughters, Kelly A. and Kristen L. McGrane.
