Timothy Wayne ("Timmy") Bodwell

Timothy Wayne Bodwell was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts on May 27, 1958, and passed away this last Saturday at Pennacook Place in Haverhill Massachusetts on September 7, 2024. He was 66 years old.  He passed away peacefully and in his sleep after a brief hospital stay.

Timmy spent most of his adult life living in the Berkshires area, Williamstown, Massachusetts, where his Special Olympic riding career began and met very many kind and extraordinary people, one of them being his riding instructor, Sandy Brown, who took him under her wing and developed him into quite a special athlete.  He Was very proud of all his Special Olympic ribbons and gold medals he earned. 

After moving back to Haverhill in 2016 Tim continued riding at a therapeutic riding school, Windrush Farm, located in North Andover, Mass., where he competed in many Special Olympic horse shows.  Tim’s love for horses started when he was a young boy and continued throughout his life. 

He also began art lessons when he was a young boy, and continued painting through most of his life becoming quite an accomplished artist. 

In 2016 Tim moved to Haverhill from the Berkshires to be closer to family and resided at Lakeview House where he Enjoyed painting, the weekly cookouts during the summertime and the many caring residents and staff where he happily lived until his recent hospital admission. 

Timmy was predeceased by his mother, Josephine Bodwell and his father, Donald Bodwell. 

Timmy is survived by his brother, Gene Bodwell, his sister, Donna Whitcomb and brother-in-law, Tom Mckeon. As well as niece, Brandy McTaggart and her husband Marc McTaggart and many friends and relatives. 

There will be no calling hours. There will be a graveside ceremony on Friday, September 13, at 4 p.m., at the Harmony Cemetery, Central Street, Georgetown, Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tim’s memory to Windrush Farm at Windrushfarm.org.
