William F. “Bill” Boccalatte, Jr., a recent resident of Boxford, MA, died peacefully at home on the morning of Saturday, December 4, 2021. Born on April 16, 1941, Bill was raised in Hartford, CT and spent many memorable summers at the family’s Sound View Beach cottage with his immediate family, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He graduated from Weaver High School and went on to earn an Associate Degree in electronics from the Hartford State Technical Institute. Bill retired from Pratt & Whitney in 1998, after 25 years of employment with the aerospace company.
Bill was married to the love of his life, Elizabeth “June” (Hobbs) Boccalatte, for 52 years. Bill and June started their lives together in a small apartment on Sigourney Street in Hartford, CT. After having two children, they moved to Vernon, CT where they spent 28 wonderful years. In 2006, the retired couple moved to Versailles, KY (a.k.a “horse country”) to be near June’s family. After 8 years in Versailles, they followed their daughter, Julie, to Charlotte, NC. In June, 2021, Bill and June moved to Boxford, MA to live with their son, Philip.
Bill was passionate about many things, from photography to playing the horses on Saturday afternoons with his son, Philip. Moved by a spiritual experience decades ago, and further inspired by the works of J. Krishnamurti, Bill had a unique philosophy about “one’s self”, which he shared with anyone and everyone who would listen. He wrote two books dedicated to his message; Selfology and Willy the Wave, the latter of which was published in 2018.
Bill is survived by his wife June, of Boxford, MA, his son, Philip Boccalatte and his wife, Flor of Boxford, his daughter, Julie (Boccalatte) and her husband, Clint Eudy of New London, NC, and his four granddaughters, Isabella and Elizabeth Boccalatte of Boxford, and Paysen and Kaysi Doran of New London. Bill also leaves behind his sister, Rosemary Molloy of Redhook, NY and his brother, John Boccalatte and his wife, Michele of Middletown, CT, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bill is predeceased by his father, William F. Boccalatte, Sr. and his mother, Tillie A. Boccalatte of Hartford, CT, as well as his brother-in-law, Andy Molloy of Redhook, NY.
