William “Billy” Spence Jr
April 11, 1961 to June 7, 2025
Billy was a one of a kind guy. The guy we thought would live forever. So generous, loyal, honest, thoughtful and loving, he set an example for all of those who knew him. Billy grew up the youngest of five siblings in Burlington Ma., where he formed many friendships with whom he kept in touch with throughout his life. He was loved by so many. A guy who would take the shirt off his back to help a friend. When on trips, Billy would buy gifts for friends because he knew how much they’d love and appreciate them. He would give up his life for his children if he had to and would do anything for that most special granddaughter Autumn, or as “Grampy” called her, “Auttie”.
He loved spending time with his two dogs Sammy and Dixie. Billy, as with all the Spences, was very mechanically inclined and with that he obtained his HVAC license many years ago. His loyalty was so strong that he worked for the same company for 37 years, and just recently celebrated a well deserved retirement. Billy met his wife Trish and married in 1984, almost 41 years together; a lifetime. They raised two children, their son Joe and daughter Maya. Joe married his wife Amanda and they brought beautiful baby Autumn into this world two years ago. An avid outdoorsman, Billy loved his camp in Rome, Maine. Camp Spence, which soon became the Spence Compound, was a place that he and his brothers and close friends and family made memories together over the last decade.
Billy is survived by his wife Trish, children Maya, Joe, daughter-in-law Amanda, and granddaughter Autumn. He also leaves behind his three brothers, Charlie, sister-in-law Jo-Ann, Mark, and Kevin, as well as many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his sister, Stephanie. To know him was to love him. He treasured his family and friends above all else. Billy will be missed by many.
