William (Bill) E. Spears III, 56, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on October 14, 2023, after a brief illness.
Bill was born on April 5, 1967, in Danvers, MA, to Jack and Betty (Cross) Spears.
Bill married the love of his life, Jeanine (Douglas) Spears, with whom he shared 22 years of marriage.
Bill graduated from Georgetown High School in 1985 and Colby College in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Shortly after graduating from college, Bill started working at Ebsco Publishing in Ipswich, MA, where he worked for the last 34 years. He loved his job and his Ebsco co-workers.
Bill loved all animals and enjoyed spending time with his dogs, Sherlock and Libby.
Bill was the first person to drop whatever he was doing to help a friend or family member in need. He was a funny guy who made everyone laugh with his sharp wit and sense of humor. He was an extraordinarily loving and humble man who always had a kind word to share or a funny story to tell. He had a wealth of knowledge and enjoyed all forms of trivia.
Bill leaves behind his wife, Jeanine, of Georgetown; parents, Jack and Betty Spears, of Haverhill; sister, Deborah Spears, and her fiancé, Mickey Thompson, both of Bradford; mother-in-law, Diane Douglas, of Peabody; brother-in-law, Jeff Douglas, of Merrimac; nieces and nephews, Janelle Nicklas, and her husband, Shawn, of Merrimac, Hannah and Jakob Douglas and their mother, Erika Douglas, of Kingston, NH; and godson, Keagan Gwynn, of Middleton. Bill also leaves behind aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as his very dear and longtime friends, Billy and Sharlene King of Rowley, MA.
Bill will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his calling hours at the Conte-Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown, MA, on Thursday, October 19th from 2pm until 6pm. Bill's Funeral Service will be held at 6 pm in the Funeral Home. A celebration of life will also be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk, ME, or to an animal shelter of your choice in Bill’s name.
